Our Mission

Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse Houston (CALA) is a grassroots public education and legal watchdog group funded by contributions from concerned citizens. Our purpose is to inform the public about balance, fairness and sensibility in our civil justice system. Founded in 1990, the CALA organization, a 501(c)3, currently has chapters throughout Texas, numbering 25,000 supporters statewide.

We are not lobbyists or lawyer bashers. We do not endorse or support candidates. We simply strive to educate the public and raise awareness about the cost and consequence of real and potential abuses in our legal system.
