When the Mongolian jurists visited Texas to learn about our civil justice system, I doubt we told them that in Texas a party or their attorney can give a contribution to the judge while he or she is hearing their case. How large a contribution? How about $15,000 from an individual in an election cycle, $90,000 from a law firm and $900, 000 from a political action committee. Maybe we should work on our problems at home before we brag about Texas justice.
