An eye-popping 45,000 mold claims in the past two years have thrown our state into a full-blown insurance crisis "Mold claims rise, but payouts fall," June 15). Even though most of us never have and never will file a mold claim, all homeowners are paying a lot more money for a lot less coverage. All because of a mold scare that is largely being driven by -- if not shaped by -- personal injury lawyers.
Mold could easily dwarf past lawsuit abuse issues. If so, consumers can expect to pay more than just higher insurance costs.
